The sequel takes place 35 years after the events in the franchise episode VI. A new intergalactic adventure and a new rebellion between the Empire and the Force of Resistance, led by Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), will take place. Kylo Ren, the negative character played by Adam Driver, makes the promise to finish what Darth Vader has started.
On the other side of the barricade are Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) who will find a goal after meeting with Han Solo (Harrison Ford). “The Force Awakens” in the title of the film is a direct commentary on the evolution of the two protagonists.
BB-8, Chewbacca and Princess Leia, played by the same Carrie Fisher, have their own role in the evolution of events.
