Los turistas, una temporada en el infierno este un Slasher independent extrem de nou şi de super entertaining, cu un OST Punk-Rock, premiat încă de la premiera lui recentă din Asia, care, după cum spune şi titlul, are drept “victime” nişte turişti aflaţi în vacantă, ce se hotărăsc să participe la un festival de stradă horror dintr-un cătun pierdut în mijlocul pădurii. Cât de sângeros ajunge să fie rezultatul se poate bănui. Ideea s-a născut în mintea creatorilor filmului, Gaby Smiths (regie) şi Mechi Pérez (scenariu), când au decis să se mute din Buenos Aires undeva pe coasta Atlanticului, pentru a începe o viaţă nouă într-un mediu natural mai puţin îmbâcsit şi stresant decât cel metropolitan. Experienţele noi trăite, dar şi vechea pasiune pentru Horror, au condus în final spre Los turistas, nefiind deloc întâmplător faptul că “A Season in Hell” din titlul filmului reprezintă numele poemului lui Rimbaud, Une Saison en Enfer, care a avut ulterior o mare influenţă asupra a numeroşi artişti, mai ales Suprarealişti.
“LOS TURISTAS, UNA TEMPORADA EN EL INFIERNO” (“The Tourists, a Season in Hell”). A group of friends go on a vacation trip to a town in the middle of the woods. Everything seems to go as planned until they decide to attend a street horror show that will change their lives forever.
Gaby Smiths, director of the film, studied Advertising, then began studying the career of Comprehensive Film and Video Director at Avellaneda Film Institute where he made a large number of short films, documentaries and scripts. In 2008, he founded the production company Lion Films with which he has made more than 350 video clips with various bands such as Pixies, The Magic Numbers, Jehtro Tull, Ian Anderson or Inspiral Carpets. Mechi Pérez, screenwriter and assistant director of the film, studied Literature and she also trained in Photography and Acting, but always hand in hand with writing, a passion that has always accompanied her. In 2022, she finished writing her first book of poetry and in turn she wrote the script for the feature film “Los Turistas”.
