Realizat de Jack Dignan, “noul James Wan”, după cum îl descrie presa australiană, un realizator extrem de talentat care, pentru lungmetrajul său de debut, After She Died, a fost nominalizat şi în 2022 la Dracula Trophy, Puzzle Box este un Horror din categoria Found footage extrem de eficace şi inovativ. Kait, un tânăr care luptă cu dependenţa de droguri nu-şi doreşte sub nicio formă să mai revină în spital pentru a beneficia de asistenţă de specialitate şi ajunge să se ascundă, însoţit de sora sa mai mică, Olivia, interesată să documenteze tentativa de auto-vindecare, într-o casă izolată din pădure, doar că aceasta îşi schimbă continuu interiorul şi îi ţine în felul acesta captivi. Prinşi în acest labirint coşmaresc, cei doi înfruntă un pericol mult mai înfricoşător decât proprii lor demoni interiori. După After She Died, dar şi prin scurtmetrajele sale It Feels Like Spring şi Does Nobody See the Gun?, Jack Dignan demonstrează că este posesorul unei voci puternice, distincte şi proaspete în spaţiul cinematografiei Horror contemporane.

“Puzzle Box” follows the story of a struggling drug addict, Kait (Boyé), and her younger sister, Olivia (Denne). Running from a violent incident in her past and not wanting to go back to rehab, Kait flees to a remote house in the woods to self-rehabilitate, where Olivia joins her to document the process. But they quickly find that the house isn’t what it seems and the internal layout is constantly changing, trapping them inside an inescapable puzzle box of a house. As they attempt to solve the mystery and find a way out, they discover there are far worse things in this house to be afraid of.

Described by The Australian as „the new [James] Wan„, Jack Dignan has established himself as a writer, director and producer with a unique style and a fresh voice in genre filmmaking. His award-winning debut feature, After She Died – nominated at DFF in 2022 for Dracula Trophy -, was released all around the globe and his short films, It Feels Like Spring and Does Nobody See the Gun?, have also gained global recognition on the festival circuit.
